Welcome Vacation Island’s Matt Boynton

The Magic Shop is thrilled to welcome back Vacation Island’s Matt Boynton. Matt was our head engineer many years ago and one of the most talented guys to come through this studio. He left to start his own place and had a great run – making records with the likes of Gang Gang Dance, Kurt Vile, MGMT, Hospitality, Lissie, Beirut and Bat For Lashes – until Williamsburg gentrification forced him out of his space. Now he’s back at the Magic Shop, mixing downstairs with a brand new Pro Tools rig and Neotek Series 1E console, and recording upstairs on the Magic Shop’s vintage Neve console.
